Our hiring process

Our hiring process involves three simple steps, outlined below.

Please ensure you have your CV ready, as you will be required to upload it when completing the application form. You will also be asked to upload your English Proficiency Test results, so please have them ready.

  • 1. English Proficiency Test

    All applicants must complete a short English proficiency test. Most roles at Booksie involve teaching reading, so strong grammar, syntax and written expression are essential.

    Take the test in one sitting. Once completed, download your results, as you will need to upload them with your application.

  • 2. Submit your application

    Scroll down to the role you are interested in and click the Apply button beneath it. Complete the application form and upload your CV along with your English Proficiency Test results. Please ensure both documents are ready before you begin.

  • 3. Interview

    Successful applicants will be invited to a brief call so we can get to know you better and answer any questions you may have. If all goes well, we will share an offer and next steps.

Super Reading Camp 2026

About Super Reading Camp

Super Reading Camp is a fun, high energy holiday programme where children grow in reading confidence through reading lessons, stories, creativity, performance, play and adventure.

From phonics and guided reading to theatre, dance, games and hands-on activities, we create exciting learning experiences that help children build literacy skills while having an unforgettable holiday.

We’re looking for passionate, creative and enthusiastic team members who are excited to inspire young readers, support children and make a real difference while having lots of fun along the way!

Internship details

  • Internship dates: 22 June - 21 August
  • Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Locations: Dzorwulu and McCarthy Hill 

Applicants may apply for their preferred location. However, please note that the McCarthy Hill location will only run if the required minimum number of participants is reached. If this minimum is not met, applicants who selected McCarthy Hill must be willing to work from our Dzorwulu location instead. Flexibility regarding location is therefore required for all applicants.

  • Compensation
    • All interns: 2700ghs paid over the 2 months
    • Additional stipend for Reading Facilitators who lead enrichment activities: 400ghs paid over the 2 month
      • Dance: 4 at each location
      • Public speaking: 2 at each location
      • Outdoor activities: 2 at each location
      • Art and craft: 1 at each location

Reading Facilitators

Facilitators are at the heart of the camp experience. You will teach literacy skills through engaging, activity-based learning and help create a fun, safe and exciting camp environment.

There are opportunities to also lead enrichment activities such as:

  • Public speaking
  • Dance
  • Outdoor activities
  • Art and craft

All facilitators will also support theatre and performance sessions during camp.

Key responsibilities

  • Teach reading using Jolly Phonics
  • Facilitate guided reading with Jolly Phonics where needed
  • Teach comprehension, spelling and creative writing skills
  • Create engaging and interactive learning experiences
  • Track learner progress and provide:
  • Weekly reports
  • End-of-camp reports
  • Support theatre and dance instructors and camp-wide activities
  • Encourage confidence, participation and teamwork among children
  • Maintain a positive and child-friendly learning environment

Requirements

  • Strong spoken and written English
  • Passion for working with children
  • Energetic, patient and creative personality
  • Good classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Teaching or literacy experience is an advantage
  • Familiarity with Jolly Phonics is a plus

Administrative & Programme Intern

This is a flexible, hands-on role for someone who enjoys organisation, creativity and supporting children’s learning.

You will support both camp operations and literacy programming before and during camp.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support
  • Assist with planning and organising camp activities
  • Create lesson plans and virtual lesson slides
  • Prepare learning materials and activity resources
  • Support reading and literacy sessions
  • Help children during learning activities
  • Support art and craft sessions
  • Assist with bookshop retail during camp activities
  • Assist with general camp activities and daily tasks
  • Jump into anything and everything. No two days are the same!

Requirements

  • Organised and detail oriented
  • Creative and adaptable
  • Comfortable working with children
  • Good computer skills
  • Familiarity with the Google Suite and Canva
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Marketing & Communications Intern

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Marketing & Communications team member to help promote Super Reading Camp and engage families online and offline.

This role will also support teaching within the virtual programme.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and schedule social media content
  • Capture camp photos, videos and highlights
  • Support online marketing campaigns
  • Engage with parents and respond to enquiries
  • Assist with fliers, posters and promotional materials
  • Support registration and outreach activities
  • Teach within the virtual reading programme
  • Help create engaging online learning experiences
  • Support camp events and community engagement

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Creative and social media savvy
  • Comfortable using Canva and basic digital tools
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Confident working with children online
  • Photography/video editing skills are a major plus

Camp Operations Support

We are looking for dependable and proactive Camp Operations Support staff to help keep camp running smoothly each day.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being helpful, organised and hands-on.

Key responsibilities

  • Support daily camp operations
  • Manage child drop-off and pick-up
  • Help supervise children during transitions and activities
  • Warm meals and assist with snack/lunch coordination
  • Wash dishes and maintain cleanliness in shared spaces
  • Run errands and support facilitators as needed
  • Help set up and pack down activity spaces
  • Provide childcare support when required
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and organised environment
